Sir,

It is with much regret that I bring to

Your Excellency's notice the action of Mr. J. W. Norton-kyshe,

Begistrar of the Supreme Court.

On the 26th. instant I endorsed on a sub-

testificandum the following minute:-

The Registrar duly referred the ques-

tion to the head Bailiff with whose explanation I was satisfied.

The Hegistrar minuted back to me as

follows:-

"Bailiff's expianation above. May 1 point out that it

is irregular for any Judge or Court to endorse any process of

the Court ?

I took exception to the second

sentence in this minute and about 4 B.M. asked the Registrar to

see me in my Charbers.

I annex an account of that interview

which resulted in my ordering the Registrar out of my Chambers.

As I was not satisfied with the

grounds on which the Registrar had suggested that my action in

endorsing the subpoena was irregular, i, at the conclusion of
